Hi I have to agree Dylan Thomas was a great poet and writer and a true asset to the welsh people the point to which you refer I think is a child's Christmas in Wales I would have to say one of is finest works was under milk wood a remarkable effect from Thomas
Thanks for calling by and let me know if you ever decide to sketch the scene we spoke of I would truly love to see it.
My minds eye is already walking among the water breakers and sand castles with the scent of toffee apples in the air well I am allowed to be a bit of a romantic

Best wishes

Hello- I want to work on my water, brick, and plaster textures-- the shadows are hard for me to capture. I don't know how to learn via text messages (or even how to ask for help), so I will keep an eye on your pieces for inspiration. Take care! White Flower

writes:   Hi Susha.  Yes, I do realise it's been a little while since I've added any new items to my gallery.  It's partly because I've been tied up with a series of tight deadlined (commercial) freelance work which is still ongoing and partly because the drawings I want to post on my gallery will require some textual background which I find difficult to to keep brief.  It is a series of drawings I made when I took part in a squat/occupation of an East London street to resist its demolition for the building of a Motorway.  Hope to make time to do this shortly.  However, much appreciate your interest. Cheers, jimmy

Hi Jimmy. Cheers for the reply. Don't worry about the delay. Also, your message was more helpful than you might think. I know what you mean when you say that 'Conceptual Art' is taking over! That's definately the case over here aswell. Apparently however, the National College of Art and Design (NCAD), which is the biggest art college in Ireland are losing interest in it! They had, over the last decade moved towards accepting people on the basis of how they seem to be able to work on a more abstract level with colour and shape as opposed to the ability to achieve representational quality or sheer realism! But word has it that they're just getting reams and reams of people getting in who can't even draw a straight line and it's starting to irritate them. So hopefully things will change!

Again thanks a mill for the reply, much appreciated!!!

Regards, Crazy Jens!

Thank you for your comment. No the figure drawings are not from life. I have tried drawing from life but seem to have a mental block when coverting 3D to 2D. I also have a problem getting anyone to sit for me and I neither have the time nor resources to get to a class.(my 8 month old daughter keeps me pretty busy) Hopefully I will get there. I was wondering if you use or have ever used the deviantArt website? I have started using it and I wondered how you compared it to here? Just curious.
Thanks, Emma .

Hew Jimmy! Could you answer a simple question for me, I would sincerely appreciate it? I am looking to study art in the UK next year! What's the art community like across the way? I'm irish, and over here we seem to have a healthy art communit over just wondering how it is in England in particular!
