Monk ( Palermo ) reconstruction - Gouache and ink. Based upon a photograph of a mummified monk, somewhere in Palermo, Sicily/ Italy ; the photo was published in the Dutch National Geographic, February 2009. His bonestructure and hair are still well visible and I was touched by it, so I tried to make a reconstruction of his face. It is the first time that I did something like this. This portrait shows an ascetic, peaceful monk.
