Maybe try to develop that leading motiff further, so that the phrase is longer and then it will "say" a longer (and, probably, more interesting musical sentence). Think of 3-4 musical phrases and combine them in an interesting way to keep a listener wondering "Wut's da DJ gonna "say" next? 'Cuz music is kind of tellin stories with sound, innit? ;) The sound of this layer is kool to my ear, and if it started to "talk" and "tell" us a "story", hmm... sure it would be even more interesting. Sec, maybe try adding 1-2 more layers of bass or harder drums (some solid ground) to get a kind of filler between "singing" (vocal-like synth) and quite a modest drum-base section. I'm not sure if I made myself clear (not a native speaker, sry ;) but if U got a few mins to spare, plz check out my stuff as it's related to wut I ave said here (synths/oscillators/generators + drums) Of course, plz take all I said as friendly remarks cuz I realize my work could be easily criticized, too. So plz, don't be harsh on me, cuz I'm just a 10th class, 100% amateur, home-grown, wannabe music creator ;)))) I wrote this comment cuz I think FEEDBACK is the most impotrant reason why we put our work here on eSnips (OK, maybe a bit self-promotion also counts ;)) I myself would gladly trade my 30 votes in da djcontest for 1-2 decent comments on my work.
