"Live, laugh, love, and be happy. Be kind."
One of the songs from Oleta Adam's album Circle Of One. This song is about a woman who is coming into her own, going through changes, seeking change, and independence, and setting new goals in her life and demanding respect for her thoughts, opinions and her role in life.

hi Vic...sorry for my late reply, have been busy lately...well, everytime I listen to you, I just wonder that why isn't this song the original...though I have never heard the originals of most of the songs you sing, but, I mean, your performances look so perfect in themselves, that I am sure, the originals could not be better than these, just maybe same...especially the vibrato, and how clearly you sing...every word becomes so crisp and clear, so you sang, "How can I make it clear to you?"

this one goes straight into my favourites, due to the beauty of its lyrics, how a woman feels change, in her love towards her lover...the flame still kindles, but, it just fades away with time...and she gets used to it, and comes across new things that pre-occupy her...and wants to live her own life after what she lost earlier...WOW...keep sharing such b'ful thoughts...love..Ankie

First you sang so beautiful that you really touched my heart.  The proof is in the tears rolling down my face.  Not only do women have these moments, men do too.  I can say this is my life story right now but it saddens me to discuss this any more.   But the reality of life is that we all want to be who we need to be, especially after being the person we were expected to be.  Keep singing and when are you going to be on stage in LV?

Hugs and kisses,
chris...

This was wonderful.
You said it, honey.
I think we all need to pick it up and give it a GO again on the flip side of the record.
That's what life is all about.
Since you live around Vegas, why aren't you using your voice and let other people enjoy you personally.
This was very smooth and at perfection. This is a keeper.
Love it.
Jeff

Wow, Roy, you really paid attention to the lyrics.  I interpreted them as a woman who is at a point in time when she feels she has devoted her life to her family, and now she wants something for herself, that she has some goals and aspirations of her own.  I feel she still loves her family and husband, but she is asking or telling him that now she wants to pursue things she wants now that she has raised her family and she is asking for the freedom to do things for herself.  Yes, it is a sad song, but she doesn't say that she is leaving, she is just saying she is going through changes in her life and thinking, but I think most people do at some point.  It is a thought provoking song, and can be interpreted in different ways, but I think she is saying, give me room to pursue my goals.  Thanks for your comments, Roy, they were great! and much appreciated. They say each day holds something new,That couldn't be more true.I guess I'm speaking of the changes I've been going through. This morning as I brushed my hairThat strange new feeling huddled there,It suddenly become awareYou've got to give me room.I know how deep our love has beenSince we were very young. But now the walls are closing in Those yesteryears are gone. And in a way I know it's been hard for youTo understand my point of viewHow can I make it clear to youYou've got to give me room.I confess, I can't say that I don't love you,But this love I have for you grows weak.... not strong. If our case was ever put before a juryI'm almost sure they'd find me in the wrong. You don’t seem to make it clear these days I'm more than a wifeI'm a woman going through a changeI've got to live my life Before these precious years are throughThere are some goals I must pursueHow can I make it clear to youYou've got to give me room."
