I believe that not caring of what people think about you is a free soul because if you do worry about what they think then you would be spending your whole life dedicated to finding out, and before you know it time has passed you by without you noticing it. 

life is so short. i live each day as it comes and enjoy what i have than to dwell on what i don't have!
