my work locates itself within the domestic setting. i take familiar house hold objects such as the plug, light bulb, shoe, and re-contextualise their purpose, and describe through painting the objects versatility. this i use as a point of departure, to create work that focuses attention to the banal. found material in charity shops reflects mass produced contemporary design in bygone eras. the interesting juxtaposition creates visual social strsts for me to consider as a starting point for painting. i select materials the offer me a particular aesthetic experience which then transcends into a work of art.
