My most recent job was with the Canadian Coast Guard, I sailed on icebreakers as Junior Engineer and then obtained my 3rd class Marine certificate and worked as a "Small Craft Project Officer" in the Maritimes for 16 years, maintaining a fleet of rescue vessels around the Atlantic provinces. This included refit repair specification writing and operating a computer predictive maintenance program. Modification of 44’ Rescue Boats exhaust systems, and keel cooling on FRC Zodiacs. Computer courses included, MS Word, Windows 95, Excel, AutoCAD and WordPerfect.

As an Industrial Mechanic Millwright and plant mechanic for PopShops I purchased, installed machinery and made design improvements to increase plant production. And maintained the plant water treatment system.

My background with the British Army included a 3-year apprenticeship. Working as a mechanic, vehicle and plant on heavy equipment, diesel & Rolls Royce engines along with the ancillary trades of blacksmith, tinsmith and welder and eventually obtaining my First class A Vehicle certificate in Bordon, England for a total of 12 years military service.

Served with:-

Intake 1955A AAS Arborfield
1958 16 Inf Workshops, Minden
L.A.D attached:
Royal Horse Guards, Herford
Tenth Hussars, Paderborn
1966 Queen's Own Highlanders

I then worked in Germany as a mechanic for V.W and in UK for Standard Triumph & Jaguar before immigrating to Canada in 1970 becoming a Canadian Citizen with dual citizenship in 1976.
