About me
PK Music Productions' Achievements
Achievements:
Pravesh Khelawan My inspiration stems from late dad Khelawan Ramdhary who wasa Thabla Wizard and the first Indian recording Artist in S.A in the 1960 s and a self taught perfectionist in music. He played the accordian ,fiddle and the Thabla, My dad specialized in Indian folk music.

I ,Pravesh Khelawan Ramdhary am a self taught musician and play about 15 to 20 instruments (specialize in Indian contemporary music). I have great passion for the Indian art and Indian culture and especially the Indian music.

In 1966 I learnt to play the dolak and was tutored by my brother Prem Khelawan Ramdhary. I Started playing the dolak at Divine Life society Sat sang in 1969 (Sea Cow Lake branch) thereafter learnt to play the Thabla from my dad.

In 1972 I learnt to play the harmonium tutored by my dad. In 1973 I learnt to play the electronic keyboard and guitar under guidance of my cousin Suresh Raghunand Ramdhary.

From 1974 to 2006 (32 years) played for various bands namely; Saraswathie Orchestra (key board s) from 1974 to 1976 Saraswathie Shainaaz (guitar and Keyboards),from 1976 to 1980 the Revolvers (keyboards),from 1980 to 1988 Suhana Sungeeth (keyboards, all music arrangements for the first 5 cd's),from 1988 to 1994 Yashik Sungeeth (keyboards, clarinet, saxophone, and guitar, and presently playing the sax and clarinet for the band Geetmilan.

I won many accolades, awards and competitions, with many bands. I have done many recordings with the various bands. Highlight of my music performance was playing for the great legend Mohamed Rafi And Manna Dey with band Saraswathie Shainaaz in 1978 and 1979. I also performed with the Bhojpuri Boys in Sept 2003 in Mauritius. During a trip to India in Feburary 2007 I played the clarinet at a wedding in Agra ,several restaurants,in Bombay(Shiv Saagar Restaurant ) and at resort Baaga Beach in Goa.

I specialize in leading bridal couples down the isle in form of traditional music played on the clarinet and dolak played by my brother Prem Khelawan. These are popularly known as Russom Chowki (north Indian) and the Nadhaswaram (south Indian) I also play instrumental music with the clarinet, saxophone, guitar, mandolin and accordion and various other instruments with special music arranged with backtracks by Avish Ramkisson (music producer) for weddings and various functions.

I have also now included Live Vocals, Ken Ramlakan ( S A’s Mohamed Rafi) an accomplished vocalist who has Been Singing with the Band Saraswathie Shainaaz for Many Years and also sang with the Legend Mohamed Rafi during his visit here.

Then I have Leon Mack Ramsamy, a dynamic Vocalist (recording Artist) who sings Tamil Songs beautifully.

My son Neil does the Sound Productions for all of the functions.

I really feel privileged and love sharing the joy of my Music with the community.

I also share my music at Hindu Prayer Meetings, sat sang, funeral and ceremonies I thank the community and the many well wishes for opportunity and support for all the years.

Dear guys and girls Happy
  • After a long gape I managed to sing something on this weekend. Hope you missed me (I won't kill even if you didn't) Grin
This song is a lovely romantic duet from movie Kaash. I love this song so much and sang from my heart. I also want to dedicate this to my best friend who's so dear to me and will join her hubby soon (She's getting married in Oct)
I wanted Afzal Zaheer to sing the male part but perhaps due to his busy life he couldn't respond thus I decided to sing the whole song myself unless he decides to sing later and someone else comes forward to do justice with Kishore ji's part.I'd consider all the awesome male voices for this duet as long as you sing from your heart and put all the feelings and emotions and also maintain Sur Cool Hard?? Not really... Give it a try!

Please spare some time to listen and give your honest comments. I hope you'd also love this song as much as I do.
Thanks! -Sitarah-
