And yes, the Line6 pedal is a lot easier to use, and cleaner sounding, but I do miss the old Revox system. That left-right-left... bouncing of each delay cycle was so easy to achieve, and it added so much to the dynamics of a piece. The decay and submersion of repeats was more satisfying, more natural-sounding too. Unfortunately, the heads and guides of my B77 became worn and began scoring tapes. I could send it off for repair, but that wouldn't be cheap or too easy... and then the A77 would most likely need similar restoration before long. For the moment though, the A77 works just fine.

You are correct about that tape magic. There really is nothing more satisfying than the dynamic range and feel of a good tape recording. I've kept quite a few of my old master tapes, and they still sound far superior to their digitised copies.
